These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of sumochampionshipleague.com (the “Site”), owned and operated by Sumoco, Inc. d/b/a Sumo Championship League, Inc. (“SCL,” “we,” “us,” “our” – Note: These terms refer to Sumoco, Inc. and its successors and assigns and no other party). By using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.

What the Site is
The Site provides information about Sumoco, Inc. and allows you to submit inquiries through forms (fan signup, sponsor inquiry, athlete interest, press inquiry).
The Site is provided for informational purposes. Information on the Site may change without notice, and we do not guarantee that any specific event, schedule, partnership, athlete, or other detail described or implied on the Site will occur or remain accurate.
Submissions through the Site
When you submit a form on the Site, you are starting a conversation with SCL. A form submission is not a contract, offer, or guarantee of any outcome.
- A fan signup adds you to our email list. We are not obligated to send any specific content.
- A sponsor inquiry begins a conversation. SCL is not obligated to enter into a partnership, respond on any timeframe, or share any specific materials.
- An athlete interest submission registers you for consideration. SCL is not obligated to select any athlete, respond on any timeframe, or share specifics of the selection process until it opens. Selection criteria are at SCL’s discretion.
- A press inquiry routes to our press team. SCL is not obligated to grant credentials, schedule interviews, share materials, or respond on any timeframe.
By submitting a form, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate to the best of your knowledge. We may decline at our sole discretion to act on any submission including without limitation submissions that contain inaccurate, misleading, or harmful information.
Athlete uploads
If you upload a photo or video as part of an athlete interest submission, you confirm that:
- You are the person in the photo or video, or you have permission from the person depicted to submit it.
- You have the right to share the file with SCL for the purposes of evaluating your interest in competing.
- You grant SCL permission to view, store, and share the file internally with the selection team for evaluation purposes. SCL will not publish the file or share it outside the selection process without your separate, explicit consent.
Acceptable use
You may use the Site for personal, non-commercial purposes.
You may not:
- Use the Site or its content for any unlawful purpose.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Site, related systems, or other users’ information.
- Use automated tools (scrapers, bots, harvesters) to access the Site or extract its content, except for standard search-engine crawlers acting in compliance with our robots.txt file.
- Submit information through the forms on behalf of another person without that person’s consent, or submit false information.
- Use the Site in any way that could damage, disable, or impair the Site or its operation.
- Reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from the Site’s content (text, images, logos, designs or other intellectual property) without our written permission, except for fair-use purposes such as journalism.
Intellectual property
The Site and its contents — including text, images, logos, the Sumo Championship League name and trademarks, service marks, design, other intellectual property and code — are owned by SCL or its licensors and are protected by U.S. and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
Press use. Journalists and media may use SCL’s logos, founder bios, and press materials provided through the press kit (or made available on request) solely for editorial coverage of Sumo Championship League. Use must accurately represent SCL and may not imply endorsement of unrelated products, services, or organizations.
Nothing on the Site grants you any license or right to SCL’s intellectual property beyond the personal-use and press-use rights described here.
Third-party links and services
The Site may link to or integrate with third-party services (for example, the email signup form is processed by ConvertKit and our contact records are managed in FluentCRM). We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or terms of third-party services. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms.
No warranties
The Site is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of viruses or other harmful components. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, SCL and its officers, directors, shareholders, employees, agents, and affiliates will not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of the Site, including loss of data, loss of business, or any other intangible losses, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
In any case, our total liability to you for any claim arising from or related to the Site or these Terms is limited to the greater of one hundred U.S. dollars ($100) or the amount you have paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain warranties or damages. In those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless SCL and its officers, employees, agents, and affiliates from any claim, demand, loss, or expense (including reasonable attorney fees) arising from your violation of these Terms, your misuse of the Site, or your violation of any third-party rights.
Governing law and disputes
These Terms shall be construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Georgia , without giving effect to its principles of conflict or choice of law.
Jurisdiction and Venue
Any and all disputes or controversies of any nature between you and Sumoco, Inc. or otherwise them arising at any time regarding the subject matter hereof shall be determined by binding arbitration in accordance with the rule of JAMS before a single neutral arbitrator (who shall be an attorney with at least ten (10) years’ experience in the subject matter hereof or a retired judge) in Atlanta, Georgia. All arbitration proceedings shall be closed to the public and confidential and all records relating thereto shall be permanently sealed, except as necessary to obtain court confirmation of the arbitration award. Notwithstanding the forgoing, we shall be entitled to: file an action for temporary or preliminary injunctive relief to enforce the terms hereof in the Federal and State courts located in Atlanta, Georgia having proper subject matter jurisdiction, and in the event of a third party claim filed against SCL in another venue covered by the above mentioned Indemnification obligations, file an action for indemnity in such venue.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms at our discretion without prior notice from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top. Material changes will be communicated by a prominent notice on the Site. Your continued use of the Site after changes go into effect means you accept the updated Terms.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Site at our sole discretion at any time, with or without notice, for any reason or no reason, including violation of these Terms.
Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect. The unenforceable provision will be replaced by an enforceable provision that comes closest to the original intent.
Entire agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy notice, constitute the entire agreement between you and SCL regarding your use of the Site and supersede any prior agreements on this subject.
